Ben as daycare workerThe Foundation sponsors educational, cultural and recreational activities for underprivileged children and makes gifts to tax-exempt medical research organizations. 

We have made the following gifts to date:

  • December 2, 2004- $1,000.00 to the Edmondson-Westview Recreational Council for their Little League baseball program; 
  • February 17, 2005- $2,500.00 to Johns Hopkins Medicine for histiocyte research;
  • October 18, 2005- $2,500.00 to Johns Hopkins Medicine for histiocyte research;
  • December 2, 2006- $2,500.00 to Johns Hopkins Medicine for histiocyte research;
  • March 22, 2007- $2,500.00 to Johns Hopkins Medicine for histiocyte research; and
  • March 2, 2008- $5,000.00 to Johns Hopkins Medicine for histiocyte research.Ben's high school yearbook pic

Donations are tax deductible.The Friends of Ben Petty Foundation, Inc. qualifies as an exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Employer Identification Number of the Friends of Ben Petty Foundation, Inc. is 87-0704667. Inspection or copies of the Foundation's Application for Recognition of Exemption (Form 1023) may be requested by email.
